NADC has made a strong commitment to supporting the arts community a part of the mooradian lofts project. The artwork that is in place in the model unit is all been created by local artists from the Martinez Gallery in Troy. In addition, the light sculpture of seven large cylinders, titled Play Sand by NADC partner Pietro Costa, has been placed on the open, unfinished fifth floor of the mooradian lofts. Works of art by Sage Colleges professor and nationally recognized artist Jean Dahlgren are on display in the first floor mooradian gallery.

 

All the art work can be viewed during open house hours (visit www.themooradianlofts.com) and on the last Friday of each month at the Troy Night Out festival (next festival August 31st).

NADC partners Ad Hereijgers and Pietro Costa are profiled and give an update on the development project 'the Mooradian Lofts' in the Albany Business Review.

 

Last November, NADC purchased the former Mooradian's Furniture in Troy, New York. NADC is transforming the empty, 84,000-square-foot building into 48 condominiums with a ground-floor cafe and a market for small vendors, plus a rooftop deck. Framing has begun with the sales model expected to be ready in June and the rest of the units by the end of 2008.

NADC's office exhibits an installation of animated new works by sculptor/inventor Walter Rossi. Since Rossi moved from Italy to New York in 1982, he has been working as a designer and artist. His work has been exhibited in many galleries and museums in Rome, London, Canada and the United States. Feel free to step by and take a look for yourself.
